1. Eligibility
Sonar Samaj Matrimony is a community matchmaking service for members of the Suvarnakar (Sonar) Samaj and their families. To create a profile you must be of legal marriageable age under Indian law (21 years for men, 18 years for women), legally eligible to marry, and either a member of the community or a parent, sibling, or guardian registering on behalf of an eligible member.
2. Your Account
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials confidential. One person may hold only one active profile. Profiles managed by a family member must clearly state who manages them.
- Provide truthful details about age, marital status, education, occupation, and family.
- Do not impersonate another person or register on behalf of someone without their consent.
- Notify us immediately at support@sonarsamaj.com if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
3. Community Conduct
This platform exists for genuine matrimonial introductions. The following are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal:
- Soliciting money, gifts, or financial information from other members.
- Harassment, abusive language, or repeated unwanted contact after an interest is declined.
- Commercial matchmaking, brokering, or advertising services to members.
- Sharing another member's photos, contact details, or profile information outside the platform.
- Any attempt to bypass verification or create duplicate profiles.
4. Verification
All profiles undergo mobile, email, and government ID verification, followed by a manual review by a committee moderator, before they become visible. We may request additional documents at any time. 5. Membership & Payments
Creating a profile and browsing matches is free. Premium plans unlock additional features such as unlimited interests, contact details, and Kundali reports. Prices are shown inclusive of applicable GST at checkout. Payments are processed by RBI-licensed payment partners; we never store your card or UPI credentials.
Premium memberships renew automatically at the end of each term only if you opt in at checkout. You can switch auto-renewal off at any time in Settings, Membership. We will notify you at least 7 days before any renewal charge.
6. Cancellation & Refunds
- You may cancel a premium plan within 7 days of first purchase for a full refund, provided fewer than 5 contact details have been viewed.
- After 7 days, memberships are non-refundable but remain active until the end of the paid term.
- Members who find a match through the platform may pause or close their profile at any time; unused membership time is not refunded.
- Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7 to 10 working days.
7. Content & Photos
You retain ownership of the photos and text you upload. By uploading, you grant Sonar Samaj a limited licence to display that content to other members according to your privacy settings. Photos must be of the profile holder, recent, and appropriate for a family audience. We may remove content that violates these terms.
8. Limitation of Liability
Sonar Samaj facilitates introductions; it does not arrange marriages or guarantee any outcome. While every profile is verified, members are responsible for their own due diligence before entering into any relationship. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the membership fees paid by you in the preceding 12 months.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate profiles that breach these terms, receive substantiated complaints, or are found to be fraudulent. You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleted profiles are removed from search immediately and permanently erased within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Pune, Maharashtra. Grievances may be raised with our Grievance Officer as detailed on the Contact & Support page, in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000.
